'Grand' Birthday 07
(edited)

the camera flashed, capturing the moment on film for all eternity
It is a yearly occasion that we gather to celebrate our dearest grandmother's birthday.
This year was no different in the sense that everyone gathered to celebrate such a joyous occasion. The last time everyone gathered tgt was.... err.. during mothers' day a few months back for high tea.
just for the record
we had a bbq last year (06) over at san su's (third uncle) or commonly mention here as nick/melis' place and
another grand dinner in 2004. (2 entries below)
I missed 05 because of training which when i look back, i find that it was totally NOT worth missing. Dinner was at Carlton Hotel's Wah Lok Cantonese Restaurant and i must say, not that the food is bad or anything, but the only dish i can recall is the bird's nest egg tart which was heavenly. further elaboration below.

and if u are wondering where i inherited the eyes from, i can only say
"beats me either"

earlier on, we were all at grand's place chilling, watching good old chinese drama.
It was a good thing we had a total of 4 cars for everyone and I had the comfort of seating the car with a mini TV in the back seat. throughout the 40mins journey, i was watching SPONGEBOB's LATEST series (not yet shown in s'pore!!) with nick and my little cousin ryanne. u can imagine how smily i was after watching pure, no commercial, NOT YET shown in singapore LATEST spongebob series.
who says 17 years old means cant watch sb?

this reminds me that xmas is just around the corner.

a classic case of like father like son.
----------
after dinner, it was down to bro's old school cinema sinema where the family had a chance to see it for the first time.
cant remember the exact location but it is somewhere near 'the cathay'.
it is a long drive up and deep into a little hill which i have no idea of how to get there with public transport.

the ground level of sinema.

i remember seeing my brother design these tee shirts many years back and now he is officially selling them. the green tee(first pic) which has 'tak giu" (milo in hokkien) printed on it has only one piece remaining. this reflects how well they are doing in terms of sales alone.
catered to local films only.

the family touring the ground lvl.

we also had a chance to visit the upstairs which was the cinema itself.
unlike ordinary cinemas, the best seats are right infront and all the seats are sofas

furthermore, we got a chance to catch the trailer of a new local english film due to release next year. i mustn't say anything about it.
